Unanswered Prayer

This week marks the anniversary of my most devastating unanswered prayer.  Six years ago, I was in a hospital room living someone else’s nightmare, pleading with God to make my son’s heart beat again.  I mean, he was perfectly healthy…

Be Intentional

These days feel heavy to me. Not just the daily… the inconveniences of a pandemic and the unknowns of the future. Not the economy, politics, uncertainty. It’s not just what I see in the news.  My heart feels heavy. It’s…

Goodness in Dark Places

September is not my favorite. I see it looming on the calendar and my chest gets tight. It is bookended by Mason’s birthday and Mason’s death. (I don’t know… maybe God was gracious to put these in the same month…

Anthony’s cancer is back.

The Lord’s faithfulness has carried us through the last few years of this unwanted cancer journey, just as he has carried us for over a decade through grief and loss.

Our faith is unwavering. All the painful and unfair things in this life loosen our ties to this world and pull our hearts heavenward.

It doesn’t mean it’s easy. It simply means we have immense hope. We are grateful for all the prayers and support as he fights the good fight. May our family grow in faith and perseverance and experience the beautiful depths of God’s goodness in trial.
